Apr 30, 2026 11:00 AM | Organization: CEHHS #ISPEDay, or Inclusive Postsecondary Education Day, is a day to raise awareness about higher education opportunities for students with intellectual disabilities. Inclusive postsecondary education (IPSE) refers to college and university programs that enroll people with intellectual disability. Inclusive postsecondary education programs create opportunities for students with and without intellectual disability go to college together. Did you know: "There are over 7000 colleges and universities in the U.S. Just over 350 have options for students with intellectual disability (that’s about 5% of all colleges and universities)” (Think College).   For IPSE Day 2026, CSUSM's Aspiring Scholars program is inviting students, educators, staff, and friends to celebrate ISPEDay during U-hour on Thursday, April 30th, with interactive games and prizes in the Kellogg's Plaza. 

Apr 30, 2026 2:30 PM | Organization: Global Programs and Services (GPS) After decades of dedicated service to our campus community, Danielle and David McMartin will be retiring at the end of May. We are excited to gather as a community to celebrate their remarkable careers and the lasting impact they have made on students, colleagues, and CSUSM.  With 38 years in student services and over 25 years in international education, Danielle has left a meaningful legacy on our campus. Often the first to greet students with a warm “Welcome,” she ensured everyone who walked through the Global Education doors felt seen, supported, and part of a home away from home. Danielle’s sincerity and kindness have made her the heart of Global, leaving a lasting impact on our students, colleagues, and community.  David has dedicated 36 years to student services, including 25 years at CSUSM, supporting students and colleagues with compassion and integrity. As the longtime leader of Academic Advising, he has guided countless students on their academic journeys and fostered a caring, collaborative community within the Academic Advising team. Known for his empathy, humor, and thoughtful leadership, David leaves behind a strong foundation and a culture of support that will continue to guide and inspire future generations. Please join us as we celebrate Danielle and David and their remarkable careers at their joint retirement celebration on April 30th from 2:30 to 4:00 PM at Tukwut Courtyard. We invite colleagues, students, and friends to come together to honor their many contributions to our campus community and wish them both well in this exciting new chapter.
