Murr, Shastri Named CSUSM Student-Athlete of the Month
Madison Murr of women's golf and Sankalp Shastri of men's cross country have been named the Cal State San Marcos Student-Athletes of the Month for October 2024.

Defending both of her titles at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate and the HPU Sharks Shootout, Cal State San Marcos' Madison Murr was named the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week for the third time this fall.

The Cal State San Marcos women's golf team captured the Hawaii Pacific Shark Shootout team title with a 3-over 579 (283-296). Madison Murr was crowned the individual medalist with a one-stroke victory.

Madison Murr was crowned the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate Individual Medalist after carding a two-round total 7-under 137 (68-67) on Tuesday at the Village Course at Waikoloa. As a team, CSUSM moved four spots to take runner-up honors have carded the lowest round of the day for a 19-over 595 (305-290).

No. 9 CSUSM Wins National Preview with New School Record
The No. 9 Cal State San Marcos women's golf team destroyed the program's 54-hole tournament record with a 34-under 830 (279-270-281), recording a one-stroke victory over top-ranked Dallas Baptist at the National Preview in Boulder City, Nevada. Murr also set a new CSUSM 54-hole record with her 14-under 202 (70-66-66) performance that earned her runner-up honors.
