- Maintaining Relationships During Emotionally Charged Times: In-PersonNov 13, 2024 10:00 AM | Organization: Office of Human Resources How can you maintain respectful, productive relationships with your coworkers, family, and friends when you may have opposing views and emotions that are intense? During this election season, tension and strain on relationships may be at an all-time high. This one-hour session will include training, support, and strategies for nurturing your relationships during this election season, and will be followed by two hours available for 1:1 appointment times for anyone wanting to discuss with the counselor. Limited room capacity. RSVP here Learning Objectives: Discuss how this election year has impacted the workplace, families and friendships. Identify your personal “trigger words” and those of your colleagues, family and friends. Recognize your physiological responses – how do you know when you are triggered. Assess using a 1-10 reaction scale when to engage self-calming strategies. Choose some simple strategies to demonstrate respect, empathy and kindness to preserve relationships. Explore some general recommendations for taking care of yourself and your relationships. Know when and how to leverage your Empathia Services benefits to help yourself and others.

- Campus-Wide Lockdown DrillNov 13, 2024 2:00 PM | Organization: Emergency Management Lockdown Drill Timeline November 13, 2024 at 2:00 pm. UPD will send out messages via the emergency notification system (ENS) to start the lockdown drill. The drill is expected to last 15 minutes. Plan to test your lockdown procedures by going to your identified lockdown room, locking the doors, turning off lights, closing blinds, silencing cell phones, and waiting for the all clear. All classrooms on campus are considered lockdown rooms. “All Clear” message will be sent to end the drill. Drill Start Message: This is a Drill!
