SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (8-15, 6-10 CCAA) extended its win streak to four with an upset sweep over No. 24 Cal State LA (14-9, 9-7 CCAA) on Saturday afternoon in The Sports Center.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Cougars forced nine CSULA hitting errors while collecting a .318 attack percentage to take the opening set at 25-23. The set consisted of 13 tie scores and five lead changes.
- CSUSM broke up a 10-all tie with a 15-6 run to snag a 25-16 victory in the second set. The Cougars hit .323 (13k, 3e, 31ta) while holding the Golden Eagles to a .000 clip (9k, 9e, 36ta).
- The Golden Eagles jumped out to a 7-5 lead in the third set, but the Cougars clawed back and took their first lead at 13-12 on a Kranz kill. CSUSM then went on a 7-2 run before clinching the set at 25-19 to complete the sweep.

- With the win, the Cougars snapped an eight-match losing skid against the Golden Eagles.
- CSUSM's last victory over CSULA came in 2018 with a four-set win in LA.

- With two matches remaining in the season, CSUSM is in eighth place in the CCAA standings and is one game back from Cal State East Bay and Sonoma State, who are tied for sixth place. The top six teams at the end of the season will advance to the CCAA Tournament.
- Gracie Zaitz recorded her eighth double-double with 37 assists and 11 digs.
