Badrani Breaks Two School Records at Triton Invitational

LA JOLLA, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's track & field team saw Rasha Badrani break two school records with a couple of NCAA provisional times at UC San Diego's Triton Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
 
TOP PERFORMANCES

  • Rasha Badrani became the NCAA Division II leader in the 400-meter hurdles as she broke her own school record with an NCAA provisional time of 57.79 seconds – 23rd all-time in Division II history and 1.51 seconds faster than her record time last season. Badrani was the top collegiate athlete in the event and took second out of 25 entrants.
  • Badrani also broke the 12-year-old school record in the 200-meter dash with an NCAA provisional time of 23.85 seconds - .57 seconds faster than the previous record set by Amber Rosario in 2013 and .65 seconds faster than Badrani's previous best time. Badrani finished second out of 95 entrants.
  • Adriana Hewitt ran the fourth-fastest time in program history at 25.14 seconds in the 200-meter dash.
  • Andrea Alvarado was the second-best Division II athlete in the triple jump as she finished ninth out of 23 entrants at 11.04 meters
  • Kennadi Cauley finished sixth out of 14 in the 3000-meter steeplechase at 11:57.45, just missing out on a top-10 program time.
  • Angela McManus finished seventh out of 38 in the 5000-meter run at 18:00.48.

CSUSM's next week of competition will be a busy one as it competes in the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 16-18), the Mt. SAC Relays (April 17-19), the Pacific Coast Invitational (April 17), the ULV Leopard Invitational (April 17-18) and the Beach Invitational (April 18-19).
