CSUSM Women's Soccer Earns 2023-24 Team Academic Award
KANSAS CITY, Mo. – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team was announced as a 2023-24 College Team Academic Award winner by the United Soccer Coaches.
Head Women's Soccer Coach Bobby Renneisen saw his team post a 3.573 grade-point average, earning the Team Academic Award for the 10th consecutive season.
"This is well-deserved recognition for the student-athletes in our program as academics consistently takes priority year after year," Renneisen said.
"Our women's soccer team continues to excel as top scholar-athletes," said Morod Shah, CSUSM Director of Athletics. "Ten straight years to win this award is an incredible accomplishment, and I am very proud of this program and our amazing student-athletes. Women's soccer continues to raise the bar every year academically, and the commitment from our coaching staff and our athletes is something we are all very proud of."
A total of 416 soccer teams (173 men, 243 women) posted a team grade point average of 3.0 or higher, thereby earning the United Soccer Coaches Team Academic Award for the 2023-24 academic year. Of that total, 107 schools had both their men's and women's programs recognized, including CSUSM.
