SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The No. 14 Cal State San Marcos softball team (14-1) will head up to San Francisco State (12-4, 1-1 CCAA) for its first CCAA road trip of the season, opening the series with a Friday 12 p.m. doubleheader and a Saturday 11 a.m. twinbill.
RECENT GAME UPDATES
- The Cougars opened conference play with a series sweep over Stanislaus State last weekend in San Marcos.
- CSUSM registered a 6-2 win in the series opener before posting a 5-4 comeback victory on Friday. On Saturday, the Cougars collected a 5-2 victory before closing out the series with a 1-0 win.
- Madison Waymire batted .583 (7-for-12) with two doubles, one home run, four runs, two RBIs and a stolen base.

FIRST CCAA ROAD SERIES AT SF STATE
- SF State is receiving votes in the latest NFCA Division II Coaches Poll.
- The Gators split their opening CCAA doubleheader at Cal Poly Humboldt last Thursday, dropping game one 5-4 before bouncing back with a 6-1 win. Friday's doubleheader was halted in the top of the fifth inning (Jacks leading 6-1) of the first game due to unforeseen circumstances.
- SF State went 3-2 at Stanislaus State's Tournament of Champions Feb. 14-16, with wins over then-No. 24 Northwest Nazarene (4-2), Central Washington (5-1) and Academy of Art (6-0) while falling to Vanguard (4-1) and Saint Martin's (10-7, 10 inn.)

THE ROBINSON FILE
- Head Coach A.J. Robinson was promoted to the top spot on July 31, 2024.
- As the program's assistant coach from 2022-24, Robinson helped guide CSUSM to three NCAA Division II West Regional appearances, an NCAA National Championship appearance, a West Regional Championship, a CCAA Regular-Season Championship and a CCAA Tournament Championship.
- For the 2021 season, Robinson was a volunteer assistant coach at San Diego State and helped the Aztecs to an overall record of 28-16.
- Robinson's first stint at CSUSM was as a volunteer assistant coach from 2018-20 where he was named CSUSM Athletics' Volunteer Assistant Coach of the Year in 2020.
- Robinson was the founder and president of The Factory Softball Club in San Diego until 2024. In 2018 and 2019, he and his coaching staff earned West Region Travel Ball Coaching Staff of the Year honors from the National Fastpitch Coaches Association (NFCA).
