CSUSM Falls in CCAA Tournament Championship Game
ROHNERT PARK, Calif. – The third-seeded Cal State San Marcos softball team (38-20) fell 8-6 to second-seeded San Francisco State (37-18) in the championship game of the CCAA Tournament presented by FloCollege on Saturday afternoon.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- SF State put up six runs in the first inning on a Rylee McDaniel RBI single, a Marissa Jordan 2-RBI double and a Lexi Holihan three-run home run.
- The Gators extended their lead to 7-0 in the second on a McDaniel RBI single up the middle.
- After Madison Waymire led off the third inning with a double, Paige Donnelly knocked her in with an RBI single to center field to put CSUSM on the board at 7-1.
- A 2-RBI single by Waymire in the fourth cut SFSU's lead to 7-3 in the top of the fourth.
- SF State scored its final run of the game in the bottom of the fourth on Daniella Guerrera's RBI single to left center to make it 8-3.
- The Cougars made it 8-4 in the fifth on Mackenzie Kestler's RBI single up the middle.
- CSUSM kept the rally rolling with a 2-RBI single up the middle by Jillian Albayati in the sixth.
- The Cougars loaded the bases in the seventh on singles by Czar Fleischman and Makenzie Guiliano as well as a walk by Waymire. Albayati crushed the ball deep to left field which had SFSU's outfielder traveling right up to the wall for the catch for the final out of the game.

- SFSU pitcher Mari Takeda Bajan (18-6) picked up the win after tossing 5.2 innings, giving up three runs on nine hits and five walks.
- CSUSM starting pitcher Jayline Sloss (11-8) got the loss after going 0.2 innings, allowing four runs on two hits and two walks.
