AZUSA, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's track & field team saw two school records in its final regular-season meet at Azusa Pacifc's Franson Last Chance on Friday and Saturday.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- With an NCAA provisional mark of 18.25 meters, Kalathan Laiwa-McKay broke his own school record in the shot put by .43 meters.
- In the prelim of the 100-meter dash, Jason Wells recorded a wind-aided NCAA provisional of 10.43 seconds before breaking his own school record with a wind-legal 10.46 seconds in the semifinal.
- In the 800-meter run, Nick Melanese recorded a season-best NCAA provisional time of 1:49.94.
- Sankalp Shastri and Braden Oberg recorded the third and fifth-fastest 1500-meter times in program history with NCAA provisionals of 3:45.35 and 3:47.87, respectively
- Wells and Dre Johnson finished third and fifth out of 44 entrants in the 200-meter dash with wind-aided times of 21.33 and 21.46, respectively.
