The Cal State San Marcos softball team (53-9) delivered when it mattered most, bouncing back with a 4-0 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills (39-24) to punch its ticket to the NCAA Division II West Super Regional for the second consecutive season. Following a narrow 2-1 setback in Saturday's first game, the Cougars responded in dominant fashion to keep their postseason run alive and secure the right to host next weekend's Super Regional.
CSUSM Powers Past CSUMB with 16 Hits in 14-4 Win at West Regionals
Earning a dominant win in the NCAA Division II West Regional, the No. 1-seeded Cal State San Marcos softball team (52-8) defeated No. 5-seeded Cal State Monterey Bay (33-23) by a score of 14-4 in five innings on Friday at CSUSM Softball Field.
Cougars Open NCAA Regional with 9-1 Victory Over Hawaii Hilo
For the fourth consecutive year, the top-seeded Cal State San Marcos softball team (51-8) opened NCAA Division II postseason play with a victory, defeating Hawaii Hilo (26-18), 9-1, in six innings in Thursday afternoon's NCAA Division II West Regional opener at CSUSM Softball Field.
No. 1-Seed CSUSM to Host NCAA Division II West Regional
For the second time in school history, the Cal State San Marcos softball team (50-8) will host the NCAA Division II West Regional Tournament. The Cougars will be the No. 1 seed this week when they face No. 8-seed Hawaii Hilo (26-17) on Thursday, May 14 at 12 p.m.
