The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (1-3) opened its home schedule in The Cougar Classic on Thursday evening at The Sports Center, falling 3-0 (13-25, 21-25, 19-25) to undefeated Bemidji State (5-0).

The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (0-0-2) opened its home schedule with a 1-1 draw against No. 13 Concordia University Irvine (2-0-1) on Thursday afternoon at The Cage.

A flurry of second-half goals unfortunately did not go the way of the Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team (1-1-0) as it fell 3-2 to Concordia University Irvine (1-1-0) on Saturday night at Golden Eagles Field.

The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (1-2) concluded the Otter Invitational with a five-set heartbreaker to undefeated Northwest Nazarene (4-0) on Saturday afternoon at The Kelp Bed. The Cougars held a 2-1 match lead and reached match point in the fifth set before the Nighthawks rallied for a 25-23, 22-25, 18-25, 25-20, 17-15 victory.
