The Cal State San Marcos softball team (55-18) clinched its second trip to the NCAA Division II National Championships with a doubleheader sweep over Biola University (42-23), winning 10-2 in game 1 and 6-3 in 11 innings in game 2 on Friday at CSUSM Softball Field. The Cougars will return to the national stage for the first time since 2023.

The Cal State San Marcos softball team (53-9) delivered when it mattered most, bouncing back with a 4-0 victory over Cal State Dominguez Hills (39-24) to punch its ticket to the NCAA Division II West Super Regional for the second consecutive season. Following a narrow 2-1 setback in Saturday's first game, the Cougars responded in dominant fashion to keep their postseason run alive and secure the right to host next weekend's Super Regional.

Earning a dominant win in the NCAA Division II West Regional, the No. 1-seeded Cal State San Marcos softball team (52-8) defeated No. 5-seeded Cal State Monterey Bay (33-23) by a score of 14-4 in five innings on Friday at CSUSM Softball Field.
