As a low-allergy goldendoodle, Frank is on campus to provide comfort, stress relief, and plenty of friendly head pats for students and staff alike.

Oct 6, 2026 5:30 PM | Organization: Housing & Residential Education Carnival Palooza is a fun, interactive community-building program designed to help residents connect with one another through carnival-themed games, entertainment, snacks, and engagement with the University Police Department (UPD). Residents will have the opportunity to participate in 4–5 carnival games, including ring toss, bean bag toss, knock-down games, and other activities that encourage friendly competition, communication, and teamwork. Carnival-themed snacks such as popcorn, cotton candy, circus animal cookies, lemonade, and a dirty soda bar will create a welcoming environment where residents can relax, socialize, and meet new people.   The dirty soda bar will provide residents with an interactive, non-alcoholic beverage activity where they can create their own customized drinks. During the event, the University Police Department (UPD) will engage with residents through an informal and approachable discussion about safe drinking, responsible decision-making, alcohol awareness, and campus safety. This will give residents an opportunity to ask questions, learn about potential risks associated with alcohol consumption, and become more familiar with UPD and the resources available to support student safety.   The event will also include a movie, providing residents with a relaxed opportunity to continue socializing and building connections. Overall, Carnival Palooza combines entertainment, community building, and safety education to create an inclusive environment where residents can meet new people, strengthen their communication and teamwork skills, learn about responsible decision-making, and feel more connected to the CSUSM community.
