Home to a one-of-a-kind program that provides support to former foster youth pursuing their college degree, ACE Scholars Services serves more former foster youth per capita than any other university in the nation and prides itself on its high rate of student retention, which exceeds the national average by 30 points. A newly established center, gifted by supporters Jan and Esther Stearns, gives ACE Scholars a place to call home on campus.

Interactive demonstrations and hands-on science activities including rocket launches, build-a-robot stations, a magic show, animal encounters and scientist chats engaged more than 5,000 attendees on Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the annual science festival Super STEM Saturday, held at CSUSM in partnership with The Classical Academies. Free and open to the public, Super STEM Saturday kicked off the weeklong San Diego Festival of Science and Engineering, the largest celebration of innovation and science education in Southern California.
