TURLOCK, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's track & field team took home a bronze medal on the first day of the CCAA Championships on Thursday at Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium on the campus of Stanislaus State.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- Jordyn Brooks took bronze in the long jump for the second consecutive season with a wind-aided mark of 5.96 meters, earning an NCAA provisional. Autumn Shomaker finished fifth with a wind-legal mark of 5.71 meters – the third best in program history.
- Rasha Badrani and Adriana Hewitt qualified for the 400-meter final with prelim times of 55.01 and 58.02 seconds, respectively.
- Badrani also qualified for the 400-meter hurdles final with a prelim time of 1:02.97.
- Orchid Concha qualified for the 100-meter dash final with a prelim time of 12.22 seconds.
- In the hammer throw, Dana Hassan tallied the 10th-best mark in program history at 37.67 meters - .92 better than her PR.
- Samone Cable won the high jump section of the heptathlon with a height of 1.60 meters, earning 736 points in the process.
- Through four heptathlon events, Kayla James is in ninth with 2229 points while Cable is 12th at 1755.
