SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's track & field team will compete in its final two indoor meets of the regular season at the two iterations of Minnesota State's Maverick Premier on Friday and Saturday in Mankato, Minnesota.
LAST MEET
- Rasha Badrani made her indoor season debut with the nation's top 400-meter time of 52.92 seconds at Nevada's Wolf Pack Classic.
- Badrani broke her own school record by 3.14 seconds and broke Nevada's facility record of 53.43.
- Since the 2009-10 indoor season, there have only been five other 400-meter times less than 53 seconds on the NCAA Division II Indoor Qualifying Lists.
- Badrani's time is .48 of a second faster than the nation's second-best time.

MAVERICK PREMIER #1 & #2
- This will be CSUSM's third consecutive season competing in the Maverick Premier.
- The Cougars will be sending a group of 12 for the final two meets: Kylie Atteberry, Rasha Badrani, Jordyn Brooks, Taylor Gomez, Kelsi Hart, Clara Haungs, Adrianna Hewitt, Aubri Le, Angela McManus, Lauren Meredith, Shaylee Mutka and Autumn Shomaker.
- CSUSM will be competing against Cal Poly Pomona, Concordia-St. Paul, Gustavus Adolphus, Martin Luther, Minnesota State, Sioux Falls, St. Could State, St. Mary's (Minn.), University of Mary, Wisconsin-La Crosse and Wisconsin-Oshkosh.
THE OLSON FILE
- Head coach Torrey Olson begins his seventh season at the helm of the men's and women's track & field programs after taking over in the summer of 2018.
- In 2019, Olson's men's and women's squads tallied three individual CCAA Championships for outdoor competition while the men's team earned five USTFCCCA All-West Region selections.
- In 2022, Olson guided both teams to a combined three individual CCAA Championships, 13 All-CCAA selections and five outdoor and three indoor USTFCCCA All-West Region honors.
- In 2023, the Cougars earned a combined five individual CCAA Championships, 19 All-CCAA selections, six outdoor and three indoor USTFCCCA All-West Region honorees under Olson's leadership.
- In 2024, CSUSM had a combined five individual CCAA Champions, 16 All-CCAA selections and five outdoor USTFCCCA All-West Region honorees.
- Olson came to CSUSM after spending three seasons as the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country at the Academy of Art University where his teams earned 50-plus All-American honors.
- Olson served as the head cross country coach for the previous three years at Academy of Art.
- In addition to the Academy of Art, Olson has also worked with the University of San Francisco and Pomona-Pitzer College.
- A graduate of Pomona College in 2009, Olson also holds an MFA from St. Mary's College (2012).
