SAN MARCOS, Calif. – All-American Rasha Badrani will compete in two indoor events for the Cal State San Marcos women's track & field team at the University of Nevada's Wolf Pack Classic on Saturday in Reno, Nevada.
LAST MEET
- CSUSM last competed in December at the CRC Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
- Jordyn Brook broke the program's school record in the triple jump with a mark of 11.44 meters on her third attempt, surpassing Amaya Mahmoud's 2022 record of 11.40 meters.
- On her fourth attempt, Brooks also tallied the second-best long jump in team history on Friday with an NCAA provisional mark of 5.72 meters.
- The Cougars as a whole posted 16 indoor top-10 program marks.

WOLF PACK CLASSIC
- Badrani will be CSUSM's lone entrant at the Wolf Pack Classic.
- The junior will be competing in the 400- and 200-meter dashes set to begin at 11 a.m. and 12:55 p.m., respectively.
- Badrani will be in the second heat for the 400 and sixth heat for the 200.
- The San Marcos native is already the school record holder in both events as she ran converted times of 24.97 in 200 and 56.06 in the 400 last year.
- This will be the second time CSUSM has been represented in Reno as the Cougars went as a team to the Silver State Invitational & Multis on Dec. 5-7.
THE OLSON FILE
- Head coach Torrey Olson begins his seventh season at the helm of the men's and women's track & field programs after taking over in the summer of 2018.
- In 2019, Olson's men's and women's squads tallied three individual CCAA Championships for outdoor competition while the men's team earned five USTFCCCA All-West Region selections.
- In 2022, Olson guided both teams to a combined three individual CCAA Championships, 13 All-CCAA selections and five outdoor and three indoor USTFCCCA All-West Region honors.
- In 2023, the Cougars earned a combined five individual CCAA Championships, 19 All-CCAA selections, six outdoor and three indoor USTFCCCA All-West Region honorees under Olson's leadership.
- In 2024, CSUSM had a combined five individual CCAA Champions, 16 All-CCAA selections and five outdoor USTFCCCA All-West Region honorees.
- Olson came to CSUSM after spending three seasons as the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country at the Academy of Art University where his teams earned 50-plus All-American honors.
- Olson served as the head cross country coach for the previous three years at Academy of Art.
- In addition to the Academy of Art, Olson has also worked with the University of San Francisco and Pomona-Pitzer College.
- A graduate of Pomona College in 2009, Olson also holds an MFA from St. Mary's College (2012).
