CSUSM Closes Non-Conference Play with 1-0 Win Against CSUSB

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – In its final non-conference match, the Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (3-1-2) earned a 1-0 victory over Cal State San Bernardino (2-3-2) on Sunday afternoon at The Cage.

HOW IT HAPPENED

  • A scoreless first half saw CSUSM have a 7-0 edge in shots while putting one on goal. The Cougars also had the advantage on corner kicks at 2-0.
  • In the 78th minute on a free kick outside the top of the box, Natalie Paulson found the head of her sister Danielle Paulson, who put a shot into the right corner of the net from the left side to give the Cougars a 1-0 lead.
