Rahn Secures First FloCollege/CCAA Golf of the Week Nod
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos' Chloe Rahn led the Cougars to a dominating performance as she's been tabbed as the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week for the week of Sept. 24-30.
Playing as an individual entry, Rahn shot a 3-under 213 to win medalist honors at the Lady Bulldog Desert Classic at Avondale. The three-round tournament was hosted by Union (Tenn.) in Palm Desert, California.
Rahn, a junior from Los Angeles, was one of two golfers to shoot under par for the tournament. She was the only golfer to write down an under-70 score — a 68 in round two on Sunday. It was Rahn's first career tournament title.
While Rahn's score didn't contribute to the team tally, Cal State San Marcos, ranked No. 9 in the latest WGCA poll, won the team championship. The Cougars scored 11-over 875 to win by 34 strokes over Point Loma for their second straight team win in as many tournaments.
This is Rahn's first CCAA Golfer of the Week award and CSUSM's second this season. Kiara Hernandez, along with CSULA's Joshlyn Ayala, shared the first weekly nod last week.
CSUSM will be in action next on Oct. 13-14 at the NCAA West Regional Preview at Pueblo Country Club in Pueblo, Colorado.
