Vasquez Named Star of the Year by San Diego Sports Association

SAN DIEGO – Former Cal State San Marcos women's basketball student-athlete Jordan Vasquez was recently celebrated as a 2024 Star of the Year by the San Diego Sports Association at its 77th Salute to Champions Gala.

Vasquez helped lead CSUSM to its first-ever NCAA Division II Elite Eight and national semifinal appearance in 2023-24, averaging 16.7 points and 11.8 rebounds per game. The Moreno Valley native was named to the D2 CCA All-America first team while also being named the D2 CCA West Region Player of the Year and the CCAA Player of the Year. Vasquez was also the MVP for the NCAA Division II West Regional and the CCAA Tournament.

Vazquez is CSUSM's first Star of the Year since women's golf's Jamie Jacob in 2019.
