CSUSM Sits in 12th After Two Rounds at HPU Shark Shootout

COURSE REPORT:  The No. 21 Cal State San Marcos men's golf team (295, +17) will enter the final round on Tuesday in 12th place at the Southwest Airlines Hawai'i Pacific Shark Shootout at the Mauna Lani golf Course in Waimea, Hawai'i. Patrick Jaksch (68, -4) is tied for fifth, six strokes behind individual leader Thongsaeng Nunya (135, -9) of University of Texas Permian Basin.  
 
FIRST TEE

  • Jaksch shot an opening 1-under 71 before following it with a 2-under 70 that included three birdies and one bogey. 
  • Aiden Canada improved on his opening round 3-over 75 with an even-par 72 for a 3-over 147 and is tied for 27th place. 
  • Arman Rahgozar is tied for 46th with a 7-over 151 (73-78). 
  • Cutter Ayres and Jason McElroy are tied for 64th (155, +11) and 77th (158, +14), respectively.

  • Nine golfers recorded eagles on the first day of the tournament. 
  • Rahgozar registered 14 pars, one shy of the tournament leaders. 
  • Sonoma State's Colin Huang shot the lowest round of the day with a 6-under 64 in the first 18 holes. He followed it with a 76.
