CSUSM Begins Road Trip with 60-53 Loss at CSUSB
SAN BERNARDINO, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's basketball team (4-18, 4-12 CCAA) began its weekend road trip with a 60-53 loss at Cal State San Bernardino (17-9, 10-7 CCAA) on Thursday night at Coussoulis Arena.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- With the Cougars up 26-20 with 4:23 left in the half following a Keavie Love layup, the Coyotes went on a 10-1 run and took a 30-27 lead with an Andrew Henderson 3-pointer with 54 seconds remaining.
- A jumper by Micah Boone cut the deficit to 30-29 at halftime.
- CSUSM shot a hot 54.5% (12-of-22) from the field in the first half while holding CSUSB to 33.3% (12-of-36).
- The Coyotes took advantage of the Cougars' 13 first-half turnovers by scoring 13 points off them.
- CSUSM led for just over 18 minutes in the first half while CSUSB led for just 54 seconds.
- The Cougars and Coyotes stayed within four points of each other for nearly the entire second half before CSUSB took a five-point lead at 54-49 on a Henderson jumper with 1:15 to go.
- CSUSB took its largest lead of the game with just 15 seconds to go as Henderson made a pair of free throws to make it 58-51.
- The final 20 minutes featured four lead changes and three ties as CSUSB outscored CSUSM, 30-24.
- CSUSM shot 31% (9-of-29) from the field in the second half to CSUSB's 43.5% (10-of-23).
FAST BREAKS
- CSUSM ended the game shooting 41.2% (21-of-51) from the field while CSUSB checked in at 37.3% (22-of-59).
- The Cougars won the rebound battle at 44-30, but the Coyotes had the edge in steals (9-3) and blocks (6-5) while committing just seven turnovers to CSUSM's 20. Both teams tallied 13 assists.
- Twenty of CSUSB's points came from CSUSM turnovers.
- Committing 20 fouls for the game, the Cougars sent the Coyotes to the free throw line 17 times, where they made 12 of those attempts.
- Stratton's double-double was his third of the season as he tied his season high with 11 boards.
- CSUSM ended the night leading for 23:36 to CSUSB's 12:03.
