Cougars Giving Back to Their Community
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Playing an impactful role in the community is a responsibility Cal State San Marcos' student-athletes, coaches and staff do not take lightly.
The CSUSM Student-Athlete Advisory Committee hosted their annual toy drive this past week, donating to the Boys & Girls Club of San Marcos. After dropping off the toys, the student-athletes stuck around to play soccer and on the playground with the children.
"Every year it brings joy to our student-athletes to see what the power of gift giving can do," said CSUSM SAAC President and baseball student-athlete Niko Diaz. "On behalf of the CSUSM student-athletes, I would like to wish everyone happy holidays."
"Champions on and off the field, our student-athletes score big by delivering not just toys, but moments of pure joy to the Boys & Girls Club, proving that the spirit of giving knows no bounds," said CSUSM SAAC Co-Advisor Andrea Leonard.
CSUSM student-athletes also donated their time to the San Diego Food Bank on two different occasions this past fall, boxing and sorting food that was previously donated.
