The Cal State San Marcos baseball team had three selected to the Division 2 Conference Commissioners Association (D2CCA) All-West Region Team, as Zech Samayoa was named the West Region Player of the Year, while Canon King and Christopher Tampoya were named to the second team.

The Cal State San Marcos baseball team tallied more postseason honors as redshirt senior Zech Samayoa was named the 2026 NCAA Division II West Region Player of the Year by the National Collegiate Baseball Writers Association (NCBWA) and joined freshman Canon King on the All-Region first team, the association announced on Friday.

The Cal State San Marcos baseball team (33-19) saw its 2026 season come to a close with a pair of losses to Northwest Nazarene (39-16) and No. 12 Cal State Monterey Bay (37-16) in the NCAA Division II West Regional at the Otter Sports Complex on Thursday. The fourth-seeded Cougars fell 8-4 to the fifth-seeded Nighthawks in the first game before falling 10-7 to the top-seeded Otters in the second game.

The Cal State San Marcos baseball team (33-17) will make its second NCAA Division II West Regional appearance as it was selected as the No. 4 seed by the NCAA Selection Committee on Sunday night.
