SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos Athletics placed 44 student-athletes on the 2024 CCAA Fall Academic Honor Roll.
The CCAA recognizes individuals academically per season – fall, winter and spring – for all CCAA-sponsored sports. Student‐athletes must be of sophomore athletic standing or higher, and own a 3.3 cumulative GPA or better while competing in a Conference‐sponsored sport in that season, to earn a place on the CCAA Academic Honor Roll. The CCAA Fall All‐Academic Team consists of eligible student‐athletes who compete in the sports of men's and women's cross country, men's and women's soccer and volleyball.
CSUSM's 44 honorees were the fourth most in the CCAA. San Francisco State led the way with 52, followed by Cal Poly Pomona (51) and Chico State (47).
The CSUSM women's soccer team led the department with 16 honor roll selections while volleyball was second with 10.
Of the 44 Cougars to earn the honor, 27 were repeat winners. Riley Patterson earned the award for a fourth time while Mya Galvan, Emma Hord, Allison Marcure, Nick Melanese, Emma Mills, Jackie Phillips, Oliver Reader and Jessica Thomas earned the honor for a third time.
In total, there were 475 fall sport student-athletes across the CCAA's 12 member institutions honored for their efforts in the classroom.
