Three Cougars Earn All-CCAA Honors
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team collected three All-CCAA honors as Trinity Barr was named to the first team while Isabelle Bakken and Tori Goff was picked as honorable mentions on Wednesday.
Barr collected her third all-conference honor after earning first-team honors in 2021 and second team in 2019 while playing for San Francisco State. The senior outside hitter leads the team in kills (351), kills per set (3.38) and solo blocks (13). Barr has recorded ten double-doubles in kills and digs so far this season. The Woodland native has tallied 20 or more kills in four matches this season with her best weekend coming on the road at Stanislaus State (15 kills, .387 clip, 16 digs) and Chico State (20 kills, .390 clip, four aces).
Bakken and Goff, both transfers from San Diego Mesa College, were recognized in their first season at CSUSM.
Bakken has totaled a team-high 77 blocks and 69 block assists so far this season. The junior middle blocker from San Diego tallied a season-best 15 kills and a .560 clip to lead the Cougars to a five-set victory at Cal State Dominguez Hills on Nov. 4.
As the Cougars primary setter, Goff has tallied 11 doubles doubles in assists and digs this season so far. The junior from Salida, dished out a season-high 52 assists in the four-set victory at Chico State while tallying a season-best 18 digs in the five-set win over then-No. 17 Cal Poly Pomona. Goff was selected CCAA Setter of the Week twice this season.
The Cougars (12-14, 10-8 CCAA) will be making their fourth CCAA Tournament appearance in five years this week when they face San Francisco State (17-9, 13-5 CCAA) on Thursday, Nov. 16 at 3 p.m. at LA Gymnasium on the campus of Cal State LA.
