Three Cougars Earn All-CCAA Honors

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos' Isabelle Bakken, Jackie Phillips and Jessica Thomas were selected as honorable mentions to the 2024 All-CCAA Volleyball Team, announced Tuesday by the conference office.

Bakken collected her second consecutive all-conference honor after leading the Cougars this season with 67 total blocks, 55 block assists and 12 solo blocks. The middle blocker from San Diego finished the season with double figures in kills in eight matches while tallying over a .300 hitting percentage in 10 matches. On Sept. 20, she registered a CSUSM career-best 18 kills on 35 attempts with only five errors against San Francisco State.

As CSUSM's starting libero, Phillips earned her first All-CCAA honor. She concluded the season ranked third in the CCAA with 3.79 digs per set and 371 total digs. The Tualatin, Oregon, native tallied 28 aces, ranking her second on the team. Phillips finished her four-year career with 746 digs, which put her seventh in the CSUSM career record books.

Making her All-CCAA debut, Thomas served as CSUSM's starting right-side hitter this season. The San Diego native finished the season ranked second on the team with 221 kills and a 2.40 kills per set average. Thomas recorded a career-best 17 kills for a .314 hitting percentage in the season finale, a five-set upset at (RV) Cal State San Bernardino.

This is the second consecutive year in which CSUSM had three All-CCAA selections.
