Leonard Claims 300th Career Win with Five-Set Victory at CSUDH
CARSON, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos volleyball team (12-12, 10-6 CCAA) earned head coach Andrea Leonard her 300th career victory as the Cougars recorded a come-from-behind five-set victory at Cal State Dominguez Hills (10-13, 5-11 CCAA) on Saturday in the Torodome.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- In the opening set, CSUSM took its only lead at 12-11 on a Miechowicz solo block. The Toros retook the lead and held it for a 25-20 set win.
- CSUSM broke a 5-all tie with five unanswered capped by a Thomas solo block. The Cougars took their largest lead of the second set at 19-12 on a Barr ace before cruising to a 25-18 win to even the match at 1-1.
- The Toros took a quick 5-0 lead in the third set and led wire-to-wire to retake a lead in the match with a 25-21 win.
- The fourth set had eight tie scores and five lead changes. Down 21-18, the Cougars went on a 7-0 run that included three Christensen aces, kills by Bakken, Barr and Jennings and a block by Bakken to force a fifth set with a 25-21 win.
- It was all CSUSM in the fifth set as the Cougars tallied nine kills on 18 attempts and no errors for a .500 attack percentage. CSUSM won the set at 15-8 to clinch the match.

- Five of the six spots in the 2023 CCAA Volleyball Tournament have clinched with CSUSM fighting for the final spot. They currently have a two-match lead over seventh-place Cal State East Bay with two matches remaining in the regular season.
- The Cougars have won six of their last seven matches with three of the wins coming in five sets.
- CSUSM outblocked the Toros, 16-9.
- The Cougars' 16 total blocks were a season high and rank sixth in the single-match record book. Their seven solo blocks were also a season best and rank second in the single-match record book.
