Badrani Named NCAA Division II West Region Indoor Track Athlete of the Year

NEW ORLEANS – After winning the NCAA National Championship in the 400-meter dash at the 2025 NCAA Indoor Track & Field Championships this past weekend, Rasha Badrani of the Cal State San Marcos track & field team was named the 2025 NCAA Division II West Region Women's Indoor Track Athlete of the Year by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA) on Friday afternoon.

Badrani won the 400-meter national title at the 2025 NCAA DII Indoor Championships with a time of 52.92 seconds, matching her program record. The San Marcos native became the eighth-fastest performer in NCAA DII history in the event earlier in the season at the Wolf Pack Classic with an unconverted time of 52.81 seconds. Badrani also ranked in the top five of the West Region for the 200 meters and took home All-Region honors in both events.

Badrani's honor is another first for the program.
