LONG BEACH, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's track & field team began outdoor competition with a slew of top-10 program times at Long Beach State's Beach Opener on Friday and Saturday at Jack Rose Track.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- Morgann Wilson posted the second-best javelin throw in program history at 38.21 meters on Friday.
- Wilson had the eighth-best 100-meter hurdles time on Saturday with a time of 14.70.
- Rasha Badrani came in with the fifth-best 400-meter hurdles time in team history at 1:05.22.
- The trio of Lauren Meredith, Lilly McGraw and Kailey Frye tied for the eighth-best pole vault mark in program history at 3.10 meters.
- Lola Cook took ninth in the 400-meter dash with a time of 1:02.04.
- Maria Texis was CSUSM's fastest entrant in the 1500-meter run with a time of 4:50.57 and was followed by Carly Schuerger at 4:51.25.
- Schuerger and Angelan McManus finished back-to-back in the 800-meter run with times of 2:24.23 and 2:24.75, respectively.
- Ashton Stamatopoulos was the fastest Cougar in the 200-meter dash at 25.67.
- Taylor Cartwright had CSUSM's best high jump mark with a height of 1.46 meters.
- Cam Ellis was the Cougars' lone entrant in the long jump and finished with the distance of 4.71 meters.
- Grace Handler was the fastest CSUSM runner in the 3,000-meter run with a time of 11:12.43.
- The team of Jalyn Guglielmana, Ana Moreno, Makayla Jones and Sarah Davis capped off the meet with a time of 4:21.10 in the 4x400-meter relay.
