SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's track & field team will compete in its second meet of the indoor season at the Colorado Running Company Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi on Friday and Saturday on the campus of the University of Colorado Colorado Springs.
LAST MEET
- CSUSM began the indoor season at Nevada's Silver State Invitational & Multis last week.
- The Cougars earned 11 top-10 program marks.
- Samone Cable tied for the fourth-best high jump mark in program history 1.55 meters.
- Shaylee Mutka's altitude-converted time of 9.27 seconds in the 60-meter hurdle section of the pentathlon was the fifth fastest in program history.
- Kylie Atteberry tied for the fifth-fastest 60-meter time in program history with an altitude-converted mark of 8.01 seconds in the prelim.

CRC PRE-HOLIDAY INVITE & MULTI
- This will be CSUSM's third consecutive season competing in the CRC Pre-Holiday Invite & Multi.
- There will be 12 Cougars competing in the meet: Andrea Alvarado, Jordyn Brooks, Samone Cable, Adriana Hewitt, Ashlyn Holson, Kyla Jones, Lauren Meredith, Shaylee Mutka, Aliyah Ratcliffe, Isabella Sanchez, Autumn Shomaker and Emma Steele.
- CSUSM will compete against athletes from Colorado, Colorado Christian, Colorado College, Colorado Colorado Springs, Colorado State, Colorado State Pueblo, Emporia State, Hope International, MSU Denver, Northern Colorado, West Texas A&M and Wyoming.
- Last season, the Cougars set several top-10 program marks, including former Cougar Lily McGraw breaking the 12-year-old indoor pole vault record at 3.67 meters.
- This will be CSUSM's final indoor meet until resuming competition in February.
THE OLSON FILE
- Head coach Torrey Olson begins his seventh season at the helm of the men's and women's track & field programs after taking over in the summer of 2018.
- In 2019, Olson's men's and women's squads tallied three individual CCAA Championships for outdoor competition while the men's team earned five USTFCCCA All-West Region selections.
- In 2022, Olson guided both teams to a combined three individual CCAA Championships, 13 All-CCAA selections and five outdoor and three indoor USTFCCCA All-West Region honors.
- In 2023, the Cougars earned a combined five individual CCAA Championships, 19 All-CCAA selections, six outdoor and three indoor USTFCCCA All-West Region honorees under Olson's leadership.
- In 2024, CSUSM had a combined five individual CCAA Champions, 16 All-CCAA selections and five outdoor USTFCCCA All-West Region honorees.
- Olson came to CSUSM after spending three seasons as the Director of Track & Field and Cross Country at the Academy of Art University where his teams earned 50-plus All-American honors.
- Olson served as the head cross country coach for the previous three years at Academy of Art.
- In addition to the Academy of Art, Olson has also worked with the University of San Francisco and Pomona-Pitzer College.
- A graduate of Pomona College in 2009, Olson also holds an MFA from St. Mary's College (2012).
