SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Brooklyn Baker, Justin Carreon and Tony Flores of the Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team and Emma Hord, Emily Mahmoud, Allison Marcure, Danielle Paulson, Natalie Paulson and Isabelle Walsh of the Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team were named to the College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team on Tuesday.
The 2024 Academic All-District Men's & Women's Soccer Teams, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognize the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the field and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes soccer honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
To be considered for the honor, a student-athlete must have at least a cumulative grade-point average of 3.50 at his/her current institution. Nominated athletes must have participated in at least 90% of the team's events or started in at least 66% of the team's contests. No student-athlete is eligible until he/she is at least a sophomore academically and athletically.
Academic All-District honorees are considered for advancement to the CSC Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in early December.
