Marcure Breaks Career Saves Record; CSUSM Falls 1-0 to LA in Final Road Game
LOS ANGELES – The Cal State San Marcos women's soccer team (6-4-5, 3-3-2 CCAA) fell 1-0 to Cal State LA (7-3-4, 4-3-1 CCAA) in its final road game of the 2024 regular season on Sunday at University Soccer Stadium.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- With her first save of the game in the 32nd minute, Allison Marcure became CSUSM's new all-time saves leader at 188, beating out Kaycee Gunion's longstanding career record of 187 set from 2008-11.
- Scoreless in the first half, the Golden Eagles had the advantage in shots (7-3), shots on goal (2-1) and corner kicks (6-1).
- A long throw-in by LA's Presli Dillon from the left side was headed backward toward the goal by Peytyn Mize. The ball went over the keeper's head and into the right corner of the goal to give the Golden Eagles a 1-0 lead in the 54th minute.

- Marcure ended the day with two saves, increasing her career saves record to 189.
- CSUSM ended the game with the lead in shots (11-9) and shots on goal (7-3) but LA had more corner kicks (6-4) and possessed the ball longer (57%-43%).
- A combined total of 29 fouls were assessed.
- Natalie Paulson led the games with three shots on goal.
- This was the Cougars' first loss to the Golden Eagles since 2021 in Los Angeles.
- LA now owns the all-time series lead at 5-4-2.
