HOW IT HAPPENED
- East Bay made it a 1-0 game in the 15th minute of play. After Abigail Kern threw the ball to Mika Sayfurahman, she received the ball again a few yards in front of the right corner flag. Kern then took a long shot that went off the keeper's hand in front of the crossbar before settling into the left side of the goal.
- Breaking away after a pass up the field, Sayfurahman took the ball into the middle of the box where the CSUSM keeper touched the ball before she made a pass to her left to Gabby Rodil, who then put a shot into an empty net and gave the Pioneers a 2-0 lead in the 69th minute.
- CSUSM broke up the shutout in the 74th minute. After a CSUSM throw-in, Brianna Delgado received the ball at the left edge of the box before kicking it over to Natalia Huntington. Huntington danced around a defender before taking a sailing shot that went over the East Bay keeper's head and cut the deficit to 2-1.
