COURSE REPORT: The No. 8 Cal State San Marcos women's golf team (304, +16) is two strokes back from leader Cal State East Bay (302, +14) following Monday's first round of the CCAA Championships in Santa Barbara at the Sandpiper Golf Club. Three Cougars are in the top four spots with Kiara Hernandez tied for first alongside Cal State East Bay's Torrie Bowman.
FIRST TEE
- Kiara Hernandez carded a 2-over 74 with three birdies, three bogies and one double bogey on Monday.
- Makenna Cabardo is in third place after shooting a 3-over 75 while tallying an even par 34 on the front nine.
- After carding a 5-over 41 on the front nine, Madison Murr bounced back with a 1-under 35 on the back nine with four birdies to finish day one with a 4-over 76 and is tied for fourth.
- Regan Barton, the 2024 CCAA individual medalist, carded a 7-over 79 and is tied for 11th.
- Diana Delgado shot a 12-over 84 and is tied for 20th place.
