DENNIS ROSE INTERCOLLEGIATE
- This is CSUSM's third time competing in the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate.
- CSUSM made their debut on Oct. 29-30, 2007, taking fifth place (1012, +148) out of 12 teams and were led by Carly Ludwig (247, +31) who tied for 8th.
- The Cougars won the 2022 tournament with a 7-over 583, 13 strokes lower than second-place Point Loma (596, +20).
- Brady Turnquist of Biola is the two-time defending Dennis Rose Intercollegiate Champion.
- This marks the 13th time UHH will host the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate on the women's side.
- Overlooking the Kohala Coast and always in good condition, the Village Course at Waikoloa, is certainly one of the most popular courses in Hawaii for good reason. This little slice of heaven features great views, interesting holes and very playable holes that golfers of all levels can enjoy. Designed by Robert Trent Jones Jr., who also crafted the Waikoloa Beach Course, the par-72 layout plays to 6,812 yards from the tips. It has generous fairways and well-bunkered greens, but consistent with Jones' design philosophy, there's always an opening for anyone who needs to run the ball up onto the greens.
COUGAR OUTLOOK
- This year's squad will feature two new Cougars in the lineup — freshmen Chloe Rahn and Maddie Reed.
- The Cougars won their fourth consecutive CCAA Championship title in 2023, defeating second-place Cal State Monterey Bay by six strokes.
- After a third-place finish in the NCAA West Regional, CSUSM made its second appearance in the NCAA National Championships, finishing ninth in stroke play.
THE HUTTON FILE
- Head coach Greg Hutton has been at the helm of the men's program since the 2010-11 season and was named the women's head coach in 2014.
- In his 13 years as the Cougar men's coach and nine years as the Cougar women's coach, Hutton has led CSUSM to 56 tournament victories (32 women/24 men).
- The CSUSM women's team was the 2019 NCAA Division II National Championship runner-up, led by National Champion Jaime Jacob.
- The CSUSM men's golfer Matt Pennington was the program's first-ever CCAA Champion and NCAA West/South Central Regional Champion in 2022.
- Under Hutton's leadership, the women's team won CSUSM's first CCAA Championship in school history in 2018 and the Cougars defended their title in 2019 and 2022.
- In CSUSM's first year of being a full-fledged NCAA Division II member in 2017-18, the Cougar men's and women's golf teams each qualified for the NCAA Regional Championships.
