Murr Collects Sixth Career CCAA Golfer of the Week Honor
SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Cal State San Marcos's Madison Murr picked up this week's CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week award after winning the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational at Shadowridge Country Club in Vista, Calif.
Murr led the tournament after posting a 6-under 66 in the first round on Monday. Her lead continued through rounds two and three where she ultimately won with 1-under 215, five strokes ahead of the second place finisher.
The junior from Los Alamitos, Calif., started the tournament with six birdies on the front nine and one on the back to go six-under. In round two, Murr picked up another birdie on the 10th hole. In the final round, she stayed even with par until the 13th hole where she birdied a par 4 to go 1-under 71.
The Cougars finished first in the tournament and Murr's first-place finish marks the fourth this season.
This is the third CCAA Golfer of the Week award for Murr for the 2023-24 season and the sixth in her career.
CSUSM will be in Pebble Beach, Calif., for Dallas Baptist's Patriot Invitational next week, March 18-19.
