COURSE REPORT: The No. 7 Cal State San Marcos women's golf team has a three-stroke lead over host and second-place Cal State LA following the first round of the LA Spring Kickoff on Monday at Rio Hondo Golf Course in Downey, California. All five Cougars who are competing for CSUSM's team score are in the top 10 following the opening round.
FIRST TEE
- Kiara Hernandez, who transferred from Point Loma at the semester break, leads CSUSM with an even-par 71 in the first round. She is tied with Academy of Art's Jannel Calixterio.
- Regan Barton shot a 1-over 72 on Monday and is tied with Cal State East Bay's Torrie Bowman for fourth place.
- Madison Murr is in a four-way tie for sixth place after carding a 2-over 73 in the first round.
- Diana Delgado and Chloe Rahn are tied for 10th with a 3-over 74.
- Playing as an individual, Abby Sickles carded a 7-over 78 and is tied for 33rd.
