Murr Collects 10th Career CCAA Golfer of the Week Honor

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – Defending both of her titles at the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate and the HPU Sharks Shootout, Cal State San Marcos' Madison Murr was named the FloCollege/CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week for the third time this fall.

Murr blew away the field with a 7-under par 137 to be crowned the Dennis Rose Intercollegiate individual medalist at the Village Course in Waikoloa Village to start the week. Murr shot 69 and 68 as the only two scores under 70 at Dennis Rose. She won the tournament by nine strokes (three players finished second at +2).

The senior from Los Alamitos, California, led CSUSM to a second-place finish with a 19-over 595, four strokes behind Missouri-St. Louis at Dennis Rose.

Murr concluded the week in paradise with a 6-under 138 to win the HPU Sharks Shootout at Mauna Lani North in Kohala Coast. She was one stroke better than Sonoma State's Avery Foster. The No. 8 Cougars won the HPU Sharks Shootout by 13 shots over UT Tyler with a 3-over 579 team score.

This was Murr's 10th career CCAA Women's Golfer of the Week award, the second most in CCAA history. She trails only CSUSM alum Jaime Jacob, who collected the honor 13 times in her career.

With the fall season completed, the Cougars will not return to the links until Feb. 3-4 when they compete in Cal State LA's Spring Kickoff Tournament.
