COURSE REPORT:  Holding an eight-stroke lead for first place, the No. 16 Cal State San Marcos women's golf team shot a two-round total 23-over 599 on day one of the CSUSM Fujikura Invitational. Madison Murr sits on top of the leaderboard and is joined by Makenna Cabardo and Diana Delgado in the top 10.
 
FIRST TEE

• Madison Murr fired off a tournament-low 8-under 66 in the opening round and followed it with an 8-over 78 to conclude the day with an even-par 144.
• Makenna Cabardo is tied for seventh after carding a day-one total 6-over 150 (72-78).
• Diana Delgado moved up five spots and is tied for 10th with a 7-over 151 (75-76).
• Regan Barton shot a 12-over 156 on Monday and in a six-way tie for 28th place.
• Lauren Hickam is tied for 39th with a 14-over 158.

• The Cougars tallied a tournament-best 29 birdies in the opening two rounds with Madison Murr and McKenna Cabardo at No. 1 and 2 with eight and seven birdies.
• Murr recorded seven birdies in the first round.
• Regan Barton was the only golfer on day one to register an eagle, carding one on the final hole of her first round, hole number one.
