COURSE REPORT: The Cal State San Marcos women's cross country team took fifth place with a score of 127 at the CCAA Championships on the course of Woodward Park in Fresno on Friday morning.
FINISH LINE
- Angela McManus was CSUSM's top finisher for the fifth consecutive race this season, taking eighth place out of 97 runners with a time of 22:01.2. She improved on her finish from 2023 where she took 27th place.
- Running in her first conference championships, Hailie Lomeli captured 12th place with a time of 22:15.9. Lomeil is CSUSM's first freshman to earn All-CCAA honors in women's cross country.
- Lauren Peacher (23:15.8) and Maria Texis (23:16.9) were the next Cougars to cross the line for 38th and 39th places, respectively.
- Also competing in their first postseason race, Alayna McGarry (23:28.3) and Kelsi Hart (23:44.8) claimed 43rd and 48th places, respectively.

"We were led well today at the front of both races. Sankalp, Angela, and Hailie both showed a lot of grit. They knew what they wanted to do and they executed."
WHAT'S NEXT
The Cougars will be off for two weeks preparing for the NCAA Division II West Regional Championships in Billings, Montana on Nov. 9. The regionals will take place at Amend Park where they were hosted in 2022 and 2018.
