Cougars Capture 25th at Lewis Crossover

COURSE REPORT:  Running against 10 top-30 ranked teams in the latest USTFCCCA national poll, the Cal State San Marcos women's cross country team secured a 26th-place finish with 662 points at the Lewis Crossover on Saturday morning in Romeoville, Illinois. No. 2 Colorado School of Mines was crowned the winner with 49 points while No. 1 Grand Valley State took second place with 98 points. 
 
FINISH LINE

  • For the fourth time this season, Carly Schuerger set the pace for the Cougars with a 89th-place finish out of 314 in a time of 22:56.5. 
  • Angela McManus took 130th place after crossing the line at 23:20.6. 
  • Maria Texis (23:41.9) and Emma Mills (23:44.7) placed 169 and 172, respectively. 
  • Melissa Estrada was the next Cougar to cross the line for 195th place in a time of 24:05.3. 
  • Maslin Sigler (24:31.0) and Emily Mendoza (25:01.9) rounded out the CSUSM scorers with 222nd and 249th place finishes, respectively.

"It's always great to be able to expose our team to the great fields and course of the Lewis Crossover. Sankalp and Carly led the way with strong individual performances. We welcomed Nick back to the course, and are happy to have him healthy and progressing back."
