CSUSM Falls 55-51 in Non-Conference Action at Vanguard
COSTA MESA, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos women's basketball team (0-9, 0-3 CCAA) dropped a 55-51 decision at Vanguard (5-4, 3-0 PacWest) on Tuesday night in non-conference action.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Lions took a quick 9-0 lead in the first two and half minutes of the game. CSUSM charged back with an 8-2 run to close out the first quarter trailing 11-8.
- The Cougars outscored Vanguard 18-10 in the second quarter after shooting 41.2% (7-of-17) from the field while holding the Lions to 30.8% (4-of-13).
- The Cougars took a 26-21 lead over the Lions into the locker room.
- Bobadilla led all scorers with nine points in the first 20 minutes.
- The Lions went 1-of-7 from the free throw line in the first half.
- CSUSM took its largest lead of the game at 34-21 on an Okonkwo putback with 7:10 remaining in the third quarter.
- The Cougars led the entire third quarter, taking a 39-34 lead into the final 10 minutes.
- The Lions opened the fourth quarter with a 10-0 run to go up 44-39 on a Halle Si'i layup at the 5:39 mark.
- With just under one minutes on the clock, Johnson closed the gap to three points on a second-chance layup to make it 48-45.
- The Lions went 7-of-8 at the free throw line in the final minute to secure a 55-51 victory.

- CSUSM concluded the game shooting 31.7% (19-of-60) from the field while Vanguard came in at 30.4% (17-of-56).
- The Cougars outrebounded the Lions, 48-37, with 19 coming on the offensive side.
- Seventeen of CSUSM's points came on second-chance shots to Vanguard's five.
- The Cougars committed 20 turnovers with Vanguard scoring 16 points on them while CSUSM notched 11 points on the Lions' 12 turnovers.
