No. 18 CSUSM Records Non-Conference Sweep at Biola
LA MIRADA, Calif. – Behind Madison Waymire's and Jillian Albayati's team-leading fourth home runs of the season, the No. 18 Cal State San Marcos softball team (17-4) recorded a doubleheader sweep at Biola (9-9) on Tuesday night at Freedom Field. The Cougars scored three runs in the top of the seventh to take game one 7-5 before completing the sweep with a 3-1 victory in the nightcap.

HOW IT HAPPENED
- The Eagles took a 1-0 lead in the first inning on a Makayla Jordan RBI single up the middle that plated Alexa Medley who reached on a CSUSM error.
- After a leadoff single by Mackenzie Kestler and a Jordan Elias drawn walk in the top of the third, Madison Waymire hit a homer over the center field wall to put CSUSM up 3-1. Paige Donnelly and Jillian Albayati hit back-to-back singles to set up Delaney Prater for an RBI single to center field to raise CSUSM's lead to 4-1.
- Biola answered with a two-run homer by Kendal Nakano to center field in the bottom of the frame to make it 4-3 CSUSM.
- The Eagles evened the game in the bottom of the fourth on a wild pitch that brought Bridgette Trujillo across the plate after she led off with a walk at 4-4.
- Biola went up 5-4 in the next inning on a Mikala Husky RBI single to center.
- CSUSM put up three runs in the top of the seventh to retake the lead at 7-5 on Waymire's RBI triple down the right line, Albayati's sacrifice fly to center and Dahlia Fink's RBI single up the middle.
- Fink retired the side in the bottom of the seventh on three infield groundouts.

- Starting pitcher Savannah Coyle got a no-decision after allowing five runs (four earned) on seven hits and one walk while striking out two.

- Biola knotted the game at 1-1 in the bottom of the frame on Kennadie Tsue's RBI single to center field.
- After Paige Donnelly's leadoff infield single to the pitcher, Jillian Albayati crushed the ball off the scoreboard in left field to put CSUSM up 3-1 in the third inning.
