LA JOLLA, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's track & field team saw a school record to go along with two other top-10 program marks at UC San Diego Triton Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- Will Prouty broke his own school record in the hammer throw with a mark of 55.07 meters - .68 better than his previous mark.
- Dre Johnson and Jason Wells recorded the second- and third-fastest 200-meter times in program history at 21.42 and 21.71 seconds.
- Sankalp Shastri and Nick Melanese finished third and fourth in a field of 44 5000-meter runners at 14:46.59 and 14:48.78, respectively.
- The 4x100-meter relay team of Johnson, Zavier Hidalgo, Jason Well and Troy Thompson Jr. finished third out of 14 teams at 41.25 seconds – just .05 off the school record they posted last week.
- Gio Moya took sixth out of 25 in the 400-meter hurdles at 53.48 seconds.

CSUSM's next week of competition will be a busy one as it competes in the Bryan Clay Invitational (April 16-18), the Mt. SAC Relays (April 17-19), the Pacific Coast Invitational (April 17), the ULV Leopard Invitational (April 17-18) and the Beach Invitational (April 18-19).
