SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's track & field team saw an NCAA provisional and 10 top-10 program marks at the Mangrum Invitational on Friday at Mangrum Track & Field.
TOP PERFORMERS
- Nick Melanese posted an NCAA provisional time of 3:44.80 in the 1500-meter run – the second-fastest mark in program history.
- The 4x100-meter relay team posted the second-fastest time in program history at 41.78 seconds.
- Dre Johnson recorded the second-fastest 200-meter dash in program history at 21.73 seconds. Amaree Berry tied for the team's sixth-fastest time at 21.98 while Charles Rogers had the program's eighth-best time at 21.99.
- While Juan Leyva led the Cougars in the hammer throw with a distance of 51.79 meters, Will Prouty posted the third-best mark in program history at 51.73 meters while Kalathan Laiwa-McKay had the team's fourth-best mark at 51.40 meters.
- Aedan Fernandez tallied the fourth-fastest time in team history in the 400-meter dash at 48.23 seconds. Julian finished right behind him with the program's fifth-fastest time at 48.54. Amaree Berry had the ninth-best time for the team at 49.18.
- Laiwa-McKay won the shot put with a distance of 17.09 meters.
- Jeremy Rack finished with a time of 15.39 in the 110-meter hurdles.
- Dre Johnson recorded a time of 10.74 in the 100-meter dash.
- Will Prouty was CSUSM's lone entrant in the discus and tallied a mark of 39.01 meters.
- Ziggy Nacco was the top Cougar in the 800-meter run at 1:55.78.
- Giovanni Moya was CSUSM's fastest entrant in the 400-meter hurdles at 55.52 seconds.
- Anthony Martinez had the Cougars' top time in the 5000-meter run at 15:41.93.
- As CSUSM's lone representative in the 3000-meter steeplechase, Jason Morse finished with a time of 9:58.28.
- Mateo Gomez had CSUSM's best long jump mark at 6.54 meters.
- Shaun Katje posted a triple jump mark of 12.86 meters as the Cougars' lone participant.
- Ataklty Gebru had CSUSM's top time in the 10,000-meter run to wrap up the meet at 32:18.28.

CSUSM will return to action on Saturday as some of the men's team will head to UCLA for the Rafer Johnson/Jackie Joyner-Kersee Invitational while a trio will compete in the 800-meter run at USC Trojan Invitational.
