TURLOCK, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's track & field team saw a school-record performance on the first day of the CCAA Championships on Thursday at Al Brenda Track at Warrior Stadium on the campus of Stanislaus State.
TOP PERFORMANCES
- Jason Wells broke the CSUSM school record in the prelims of the 100-meter dash with the event's second-fastest time of 10.53 seconds. Dre Johnson also qualified for the final with a time of 10.74 seconds.
- Kalathan Laiwa-McKay and Will Prouty scored the first points of the CCAA Championships for CSUSM as they finished sixth and seventh in the hammer throw with marks of 51.06 and 50.46 meters, respectively.
- In the 1500-meter prelims, Ziggy Nacco (4:01.93), Chas O'Bear (4:02.01), Sankalp Shastri (4:03.21) and Nick Melanese (4:03.24) each qualified for the final.
- Gio Moya quailed for the finals 400-meter hurdles with a time of 54.91 seconds.
