Collazos, Meinardus Earn All-CCAA Honors

SAN MARCOS, Calif. – The Cal State San Marcos men's soccer team picked up two All-CCAA honors as Curtis Collazos was named to the first team while Ryan Meinardus was picked as an honorable mention on Wednesday.

Collazos is the first All-CCAA first-team honoree in program history. In 18 games, the midfielder from Culver City has earned 14 points, five goals and four assists with one game-winning goal for the season. Collazos' point total is tied for the eighth most in a single season at CSUSM. This is his second All-CCAA honor after being named an honorable mention in 2022.

Starting all 19 games this season, Meinardus leads CSUSM with 16 points and six goals while tying Collazos for the team lead in assists with four. Meinardus is also tied for the team lead in game-winning goals with two. The Placentia native's point total is currently the seventh best in a single season at CSUSM and ranks first in the NCAA Division II era (2015-present).

CSUSM now has 14 All-CCAA nods since joining the conference in 2015.

After earning its way into its first CCAA Tournament and advancing on penalty kicks at No. 11 and fourth-seeded Chico State this past Sunday, the fifth-seeded Cougars (7-7-5) will make their semifinal debut by facing No. 4 and top-seeded Cal State LA (15-1-1) on Friday at 1:30 p.m. at College Creek Field on the campus of Cal Poly Humboldt in Arcata.
