PRs Galore For CSUSM at UC Riverside Invite

Top CSUSM Invite Finisher: Sankalp Shastri (59th, 24:21.9)
Invite Winner: CBU's Zouhair Redouane (23:33.0)

COURSE REPORT: The Cal State San Marcos men's cross country team placed 14th out of 26 teams at the UC Riverside Invitational on Saturday morning. The Cougars were led by Sankalp Shastri who ran a PR time of 24:21.9.

FINISH LINE

Shastri placed 59th out of 247 runners.
Alan Jimenez was the next Cougar to cross the line for 76th place with a time of 24:34.1.
Nick Melanese and Chas O'Bear went 109th (24:53.3) and 117th (24:57.3), which were both PRs.
Ziggy Nacco was the fifth Cougar to cross the line for 138th place with a PR time of 25:10.4.
Ataklty Gebru and Jacob Brown rounded out CSUSM's scoring seven with 153rd place (25:17.3) and 165th place (25:24.9) at 26:39.5.

"Today was a good day for the Cougars. On both sides, there were tons of lifetime bests, and also pieces that we can continue to nudge forward. It was a great challenge and learning experience, and we look forward to lining up again on our home course next week."
