COURSE REPORT:  For the second consecutive year, the Cal State San Marcos men's cross country team placed fifth out of 17 teams at the Cougar Challenge. No. 5 Chico State took first place while Cal Poly Pomona claimed second with both teams having four runners in the top 10. 
 
FINISH LINE

• With a 15th-place finish, Renton McGregor broke into CSUSM's Top 25 All-Time Performers List to rank tied for 21st with a time of 25:06.7. 
• Ataklty Gebru took 28th place in a time of 25:28.3. 
• Trevor Boaz was the next Cougar across the finish line, placing 34th with a time of 25:31.9. 
• Sankalp Shastri claimed 38th place in a time of 25:34.2. 
• Ziggy Nacco crossed the line at 26:18.9 for 71st place. 
• Braden Oberg and Mathew Musa closed out the top seven for CSUSM with 75th- (26:21.6) and 88th-place (26:36.0) finishes, respectively.
